Welcome to the Black Creek Garden Resource Network!
We’ll be updating this page with 2018 BCGRN details later this spring.
SEEDLING SALES: Urban Harvest will be selling their certified organic seedlings at the farm every Saturday in May.
The Black Creek Garden Resource Network (BCGRN) is an initiative supported by a network of food- and health-based organizations in the Black Creek neighbourhood. The network operates out of the Black Creek Community Farm. The BCGRN strives to support organic/sustainable agriculture by providing: physical resources like seeds, seedlings, and compost; educational opportunities through workshops; as well as social and networking opportunities for its members.
We are making changes to the Black Creek Garden Resource Network this year. The network will no longer have a membership stream. Anyone interested can buy seedlings from Urban Harvest on site at the farm on Saturdays.
This year, due to limited funding, our program will be trimmed down. Trainings and workshops will focus on building skills in preservation, canning, juicing, dehydration and pickling techniques. Stay tuned for the location and dates. The workshops are offered in partnership with the City of Toronto’s project Urban Harvest- Black Creek, a surplus produce program aimed at collecting fresh vegetables and fruits from homeowners willing to share their extra harvest so they can be redistributed to food banks and meal programs in our community.
If you would like to volunteer with us in canvassing the Black Creek neighbourhood please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
