The BCCF Youth Program is Back for 2023!

Our programming for BIPOC youth aged 15-29 is back this summer! The Black Creek Community Farm Youth Program cohort will consist of youth from the Jane-Finch neighbourhood who are interested in developing leadership and instruction skills and learning about food justice, cooking and food preparation techniques, and environmental conservation through a train-the-trainer model.

The free program will provide refreshments, transportation costs, an honorarium, and a safe food handling certificate.

The program includes singing and songwriting workshops facilitated by rising R&B singer Kibra, performance workshops with Hip Hop powerhouse Dynesti, and a hands-on opportunity to work on a mural with acclaimed visual artists Curtia Wright and Ray Vidal.

🎆 Live performance facilitated by Dynesti | July 4-20, Mondays & Wednesdays, 1-3 pm

Participants will: develop stage presence; write meaningful lyrics; hone vocal production skills; receive performance coaching; rehearse and perform with a live band, and learn to take their performance to the next level.

A select number of participants will have a paid opportunity to perform in a live showcase celebrating the Black Creek Community Farm’s 10-year anniversary.

🎨 Mural painting with Curtia Wright & Ray Vidal | July 25 – August 2, weekdays, 1-3 pm
