Black Creek Community Farm – Food Forest Planting Day and Earth Day Clean-Up

Food Forest Planting Day and Earth Day Clean-Up

Event details

  • Thursday | April 23, 2016
  • 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Black Creek Community Farm 4929 Jane St, Toronto ON M3N 2K8

Celebrate Earth Day with us by planting a tree! Earth Day actually falls a day before this volunteer event, but it’s not too late to show your love for the planet. We’re also teaming up with City of Toronto for a Community Clean-Up Day to clean up the woodland and pathways surrounding the farm.

With the help of our fantastic volunteers, in 2015 we beat back the invasive species in our woodland and replaced them with over 100 perennial food plants. This year we are even more ambitious! We plan to plant hundreds of fruit trees, berry bushes, perennial herbs, vegetables and medicinal plants in 2016.

A light vegetarian lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Please email volunteerbccf@everdale.org for more information or to RSVP – or sign up through the Facebook events listing.

This is the first Food Forest Planting Day of 2016. We have a second one scheduled for Saturday, April 30.
