Rooted in Leadership: BCCF Recognized by TDSB for Youth Empowerment

Black Creek Community Farm Featured by TDSB for Our Work with Black Youth! 🌱

We are thrilled to share that Black Creek Community Farm (BCCF) has been featured on the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) website for our work through the Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement (CEBSA) and the Black Student Summer Leadership Program (BSSLP)! πŸŽ‰

Our feature highlights BCCF as one of the impactful placement partners that provided Black students with a transformative and empowering summer leadership experience. Through our partnership with the TDSB, we’ve been proud to offer youth:

  • Paid leadership placements at the farm
  • Hands-on education in food justice, sustainability, and urban agriculture
  • Mentorship rooted in Afrocentric and community-based values
  • Real-life skills in teamwork, communication, and community engagement

Programs like BSSLP are essential in nurturing the talents, confidence, and leadership capacity of Black youth across the city. At BCCF, we are deeply committed to creating space where Black students can grow, lead, and thrive.
