Faces of BCCF: Meet Jessie!

Hello! My name is Jessie and I am currently a student in my 4th year of studies at York University completing a degree in Health and Society.

I am thrilled to be starting my journey as a Development Trainee at Black Creek Community Farm thanks to their amazing student placement program. I have a variety of experiences working in many customer-oriented settings, which has allowed me to exercise my expertise in ensuring high-class, quality care and service is delivered towards diverse communities. Having said that, I am extremely optimistic about this opportunity to be a part of the food justice movement organization and contribute to the high-quality work and dedication in ensuring social change and food security. I am looking forward to strengthening my knowledge and skills in the growth of BCCF’s mission, vision, and values, as well as developing long-lasting relationships with community members, colleagues, and partners. I have been inspired by the universal programs that BCCF has to offer which allow for community engagement, education, and empowerment. Moving forward, I am excited to gain cherishable experiences which I can utilize towards my future career in healthcare.
