Black Creek Community Farm – Amy Cheng

Amy Cheng

Amy is a daughter, sister, granddaughter, visual artist / painter, ultra runner, and climber. In past seasons, she has worked as farm staff and CSA coordinator (2014), volunteer grad assistant (2015 + 2016), BCCF’s black creek garden resource network coordinator and facilitator (2017) and is now the Market Garden manager since 2018. She is quite excited about making more culturally significant crops (and perhaps seeds and seedlings) more widely available, along with related growing resources for these crops, linking vegetable production with cultural histories / knowledge / traditions, strengthening farm business and production analysis skills. Overall, she’d like to be part of efforts to increase diversity in sustainable agriculture and local food – see more representation in BIPOC growers, eaters, and BIPOC food and food cultures and knowledge in the conversation.
